Vacheron Constantin tank Galbée

Vacheron Constantin from circa 1945, featuring a 26 × 33 mm rectangular case in 18k rose gold with curved hooded lugs. Its case design is reminiscent of the Cartier Tank Chinoise, with its elongated side elements and architectural rectangular form. The case was manufactured by the Geneva-based casemaker Adea Fontan, a workshop that would later play an important role in the career of renowned master casemaker Jean-Pierre Hagmann.

The raised enamel dial displays applied gold dot hour markers, a gold “12” numeral, rose gold hands, and a subsidiary seconds register at 6 o’clock. It is powered by the manual-winding calibre 459/3B.
