Parure from early 19th century
- Parure from the early 19th century, comprising a pocket watch, a bracelet, and two necklaces in 18-karat gold. The watch, signed L. Duchêne & Fils, a Geneva watchmaking house active around the turn of the 19th century, features a quarter-repeating movement with a cylinder escapement, the quarter repeater activated by a pusher at the pendant. The case, in 18k gold, is decorated with black and white enamel foliate motifs on both the bezel and the caseback, while the dial displays a guilloché sunburst pattern radiating from the center, with Roman numerals and gilt hands. The bracelet is decorated with the same black and white enamel foliate motif. Both necklaces, also in 18k gold, echo this same enameled foliate pattern; one of them holds a seal and a gold-and-metal watch key. The set also comprises four additional links, all housed in a red leather case gilt-tooled with a small iron. Total gross weight of the parure: 173.5 g.
