Longines Lindbergh 47mm steel case
OVERVIEW
Extremely rare and well-preserved 47mm steel Longines Lindbergh Hour Angle, civil specification H.A. Civil 379 (1944–1945), signed Suiza. This steel navigator’s chronograph-bracelet features a bidirectional notched bezel with a tactile marker, graduated for angle measurements up to 15 degrees over 60 minutes, with degrees painted in blue and units in black. The dial comprises a fixed outer section with a railway minute track, Roman numerals for the hours, and blue Arabic numerals for longitude calculation, while the central rotating disc is graduated for seconds on a railway track and for angles in red by degrees. It is fitted with blued steel Breguet hands, a large central sweep seconds hand for measuring the time between angles, an onion-shaped crown for use with gloves, a central disc crown at 4 o’clock, and a winding crown with protective bow. Caseback and cuvette signed EFCO LONGINES, with hinged movement. Mechanical movement, calibre 37.9; the watch is running and entirely original. The watch is accompanied by its Longines Extract from the Archives, confirming delivery to Argentina in December 1946.
