Boucheron Vanity Case and evening watch

  • Extremely rare Boucheron vanity case with integrated evening watch from 1953, crafted in silver and rose vermeil (900‰), with a gadrooned, chased and pierced body opening onto a mirrored ground decorated with birds, butterflies and flowers, set with round green stones in closed settings. It is fitted with a rectangular, fully chased watch clasp, with a dial enamelled with small flowers, opening onto compartments for powder, lipstick and a comb. The piece bears the maker’s mark of Helluin-Mattlinger, a Parisian workshop renowned for producing luxury vanity cases and accessories for Boucheron and Lacloche from 1935 to 1959, and is signed Boucheron, Paris. It is housed in its black satin bag with twisted handle. The piece measures 2.1 × 8.5 × 12.8 cm and has a gross weight of 554.8 g.
